Gerald Haase is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Children’s Hospital Colorado and a nationally recognized expert in integrating conventional medicine with natural health strategies. With more than four decades of experience in clinical care and academic medicine, Haase has dedicated much of his career to advancing evidence-based approaches that harness the power of nutrition and supplementation to support health, resilience, and healing.
Haase's clinical research spans over 30 years and has focused on innovative uses of antioxidant micronutrients for immune defense, chronic condition management, and environmental protection. He has been a pioneer in developing and evaluating nutritional protocols for enhancing the body’s natural healing mechanisms, particularly in the areas of oxidative stress, toxic exposure, and metabolic health. His work includes over 200 scientific publications, twelve U.S. patents for antioxidant micronutrient therapy, and a portfolio of government-funded research grants totaling in the multi-million-dollar range.
Haase earned his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University and his M.D. from Tufts University School of Medicine, where he received graduate honors in medical research. His postgraduate training includes the University of Colorado, Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Boston, and Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was board-certified in general surgery, pediatric surgery, and critical care.
He has held leadership roles including Chairman of Pediatric Surgery at Children’s Hospital Colorado and served as a consultant pediatric surgeon to the Department of the Army. Haase was also vice-chairman of the Children’s Cancer Group, a National Cancer Institute cooperative research consortium, and served on the National Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society, representing the organization within the Alliance for Childhood Cancer.
In addition to his surgical and academic accomplishments, Haase brings a deep understanding of functional and integrative medicine to his role on the Medical Advisory Board.
