The Vitamin That Can Help End Dementia…. Are You Getting Enough? about Brain Vitality Plus

When it comes to treating dementia, conventional medicine offers very little help.

Most people who try an Alzheimer’s drug don’t experience dramatic improvements in their memories.

That’s why your best defense against dementia is to stop the disease before it starts.

Luckily, that just got a whole lot easier to do.

Researchers from the University of South Australia have just discovered that getting more of one certain vitamin can stop this life-changing disease in its tracks

Even better? You can get it FREE!

Undoubtedly, you’ve already heard about the health-boosting powers of vitamin D.

This one mighty nutrient can supercharge your immune system… help you fight heart disease… and even stop depression.1

Now, we know that this wonder vitamin can help shield your brain from dementia, too!

For the first-of-its-kind study, scientists analyzed data from nearly 300,000 people from the UK Biobank, a large database featuring comprehensive health and lifestyle information on every participant, looking for a link between their vitamin D levels and their risk of dementia and stroke.

Investigating the association between vitamin D, neuroimaging features, and the risk of dementia and stroke, the researchers found:

  • Low vitamin D levels were linked to lower brain volumes and an increased risk of dementia and stroke.
  • Genetic analysis showed a direct, causal effect between vitamin D deficiency and dementia.
  • As many as 17 percent of dementia cases could be prevented by increasing to normal vitamin D levels (50 nmol/L) in some populations.

Professor Elina Hyppönen, Senior investigator and Director of UniSA's Australian Centre for Precision Health, explained, saying “Vitamin D is a hormone precursor that is increasingly recognized for widespread effects, including on brain health, but until now it has been very difficult to examine what would happen if we were able to prevent vitamin D deficiency.

"In some contexts, where vitamin D deficiency is relatively common, our findings have important implications for dementia risks. Indeed, in this UK population, we observed that up to 17 percent of dementia cases might have been avoided by boosting vitamin D levels to be within a normal range."

The study is timely since dementia cases are projected to reach 153 million by 2050.3

Vitamin D works to fight brain disorders because it fights inflammation, boosts specific genes, and helps parts of the brain communicate with each other – all key factors in the fight against dementia.4

Start Increasing Your Vitamin D, Easily and For FREE!

All you have to do is spend 15 minutes in the sunlight daily. As you've probably heard for years, sun exposure triggers the process inside your tissues to make vitamin D.

But getting sunlight can be challenging if you live in certain climates.

That’s why supplementing with vitamin D is your best bet for getting a consistent amount of this wonder vitamin. Just be sure to get a supplement that relies on the vitamin D3 form of vitamin D – your body best absorbs this type.

Additionally, you can increase your vitamin D intake through your diet by eating eggs, dairy, and wild-caught fish.

My Takeaway

My team and I have been writing on the importance of vitamin D for robust, good health for the last 15 years. We’ve seen the research and met with the patients who are living testimonies to the fact that increasing vitamin D levels can help improve everything from memory loss to cancer.

Most important, the only way to know if you’re deficient in vitamin D is to get your vitamin D blood levels checked every year. By the way, if you live in a cold climate and you’re not supplementing with a significant amount of vitamin D, chances are you’re deficient.

So, what vitamin D blood level should you aim for?

Most natural health doctors will tell you that the conventional experts’ recommended vitamin D levels outlined above are woefully inadequate. Instead, many point out that maintaining a blood level between 50 ng/mL and 80 ng/mL is a better choice for your health, although some doctors suggest vitamin D blood levels as high as 80ng/mL to 100ng/mL.

When in doubt, I recommend working with a natural or alternative doctor that you trust.
